Can hearing loss cause dementia

There are many claims that a hearing loss can be the cause or an added complication to Dementia. One thing for sure is that a hearing loss is certainly is an added complication.

Sometimes you cannot tell if a persons lack of understanding is down to not hearing or their Dementia. What you can do is have a free hearing test and the audiologist will be able to identify a hearing loss and its severity.

A hearing test is painless and but sometimes a patients ability to hold concentration long enough for the readings to be accurate but all audiologists will have techniques to judge a persons response to sound.
